Good times

These are the last pictures of our weekend. Paul walked in about two minutes later. We had a great weekend and had a lot of fun. The only thing that is kind of a bummer is that I have to go to work tomorrow. I am so tried and worn out from the weekend that I need another weekend before I go back to work. I love the weekends that we get to spend together just us girls.

Girls weekend continued.....

On the third day that Paul was still on his trip we got up had a big breakfast and then went to the park. The girls had a lot of fun and we found a park that no one was at. We stayed for about two hours and got good and tried so when we got home we all crashed.
Later that night after dinner we did an art project. We melted crayons with an iron on wax paper. I brought the wrong kind of paper so it didn't work as well as it should of but oh well.

Just the Girls

Paul went on a scuba trip this weekend so it was just the girls. I wanted to do some fun things with the kids. After taking a bath and cleaning the house, we made some Halloween cupcakes. My girls love making cupcakes cause there is some much that they get to help with. Next we went to Target to pick up the last of the things we need for the Halloween costumes.
Then we went to McDonald's for lunch and to burn off a little energy. After that we needed to go to Mimi's house to pick up a few things and stayed for a little while to play.
By the end of the day they were bushed I was hoping to make it home without them falling asleep but no such luck. It always amazes me how kids can sleep in the most uncomfortable positions.

Field Trip

Natalie had her first field trip with her pre-school class. They went to a local pumpkin patch. This trip really helped her get a little more comfortable with her class. I thought I was totally OK with Natalie getting bigger and gaining more independence but I was wrong. The second I saw Natalie get on the bus I started to cry. All I could think was how big she was getting and pretty soon she won't want to talk to me because I am just her stupid mom. It was a very sad day for me but Natalie had a blast at the pumpkin patch.

Sleeping Beauty

Natalie got the movie Sleeping Beauty for her birthday. It was a gift that both her and Kate would like and can't fight over. When Natalie opened it and set it down Kate got a hold of it and couldn't quite say Sleeping Beauty.

Turning 4!!!

Natalie turn 4 with a bang. We had a great party over at Mimi and Papa's house. We celebrated Papa and Natalie's birthdays together they are only two days apart. I made some cupcakes but the big dessert was sundaes. We had all kinds of toppings to choose from. She got a ton of gifts it was like Christmas there. My cousin Lindsey and her husband AJ were there to help us celebrate (Aunt Lulu and Uncle AJ to Natalie). It was great to have them there because they helped put all the toys together. This time Kate was more then willing to help open presents and tried her best to take over all the baby stuff that Natalie got. Thanks to everyone and we have only had a few fights over the new toys.

Haircut #2

Natalie found another pair of scissors the day after we took her to the hair salon and got the first haircut fixed. It is hard to see in the pictures but she has 1/2 inch spikes towards her forehead. Then there are a bunch of other little uneven hair. If she cuts her hair again Paul's says we should pig shave her.

Love the style

So I have decided that I love the look of knee highs and leggings. Good for me that Gymboree has a lot of those kind of clothes. Too bad they are expensive clothes so I only get to buy them when they are on sale or I get a coupon in the mail. I got a coupon this week so I was able to buy these outfits. Their hair is a mess but I just put the outfits on to make sure they fit.

My girls

They are just so darn cute and getting so big. We were playing outside and while I was taking pictures I realized that I really like the hair cuts. They make them look so much older.

I so called this....

I came home from work and found Natalie's hair on the floor of the bathroom. Just last week she brought home a paper from school that she was practicing cutting with scissors on. I thought to myself this can't be good. I even blogged that Natalie or Kate would have a hair cut soon. This time it was bad enough that I had to have it a cut off. The really bad thing is that we are scheduled to have family pictures taken next week. I guess we will have pictures now to remember this moment. If this happens again I will be throwing out all the scissors in the house.

I decided that while we were there Kate might as well get a hair cut too. This was Kate's first hair cut. She did really well and only started to cry once but then sucked it up and made it through the rest of the hair cut. When they were done the got balloons from the shop. The lady tied them around their wrist so they would loose them. Then we went out side to get in the truck and I stopped to take some pictures and Kate promptly got the balloon off her wrist and let it go.

After we got their hair done we went home and put some bows in their hair. Overall the haircut isn't that bad and it is kind of cute.

What kids say

Below is a conversation I had with Natalie that made me stop and laugh. We were walking out to get in the truck and Natalie turned to me and said....... Natalie: Mom what's that? Me: bird poop (on the window of the truck) Natalie: What? Me: bird poop Natalie: That's disgusting Me: I know Natalie: I'm not going to eat that. Where she got that I will never know. I did ask Paul what he was feeding the girls for dinners during the week when I am not there. HAHA

I'm 30!!!!

I am 30 and this is probably me 29 years ago. I have very few baby pictures of me but I didn't take any pictures on my birthday so I posted this. Overall my birthday wasn't too bad.....Paul got a babysitter and took me to Oktoberfest, then we walked around a couple of malls. It was nice not to have a plan and just spend the day with Paul. We both thought that it felt like what we use to do before kids. I wasn't as depressed as I thought I would be hitting 30 but it has made me sit and think about my life. I think I would like to have one weekend or day on a weekend a month where it is just Paul and I. I really enjoyed our day and and we don't hardly ever get to do that. We let life and kids take over most of the time and I want to change that. I am going to work on doing more things that make my family and I happy and stop stressing on the little things. The time has gone by so fast and I don't want to look back and say I worked or saved money all through my thirties and didn't have a lot of fun. As I read this maybe being 30 has effected me a little more then I thought.

1st Day of school

Natalie had her first day of school last week. I talked with her teacher this week and she said Natalie is starting to talk and get more comfortable in class. She was really shy the first couple of days and didn't say much. I picked her up yesterday and she thinks school is so much fun. Katelyn had a harder time with Natalie going to school. Natalie has always been around for Katelyn to play with so she didn't know how to deal with her being gone. She is doing much better and is starting to realize that she gets mom's attention all to herself for a while.

Natalie always gets ready to go a little early and has to hang around until it is time to go. The only thing I don't like so far is Natalie came home with a piece of paper with cuts in it. They are teaching her how to use scissors. I can see it now....Natalie or Kate will be getting a hair cut soon.

Time with my girls

I had the great opportunity to take some time off work and spend the summer with my girls. I loved being able to play and just hang out with them. I keep thinking about how much I miss when I am at work. They are so young and change so much from day to day. I will be starting work tomorrow and I have mixed feelings about that. I will miss the time with my kids but I enjoy working as well. Plus having me work doesn't hurt our pocket book. I was going to have to go back to work no matter what because Paul will be quiting work in the spring and going to school full time. The girls grew up so much over the summer that I don't even see them as my babies any more they are my kids now. I will be working swing so I still get to take Natalie to school and have some alone time with Kate. The plan is when I drop Natalie off at school then Kate and I will go walking, well I will be walking Kate will be enjoying the ride, and afterwards take Kate to the park to play. That's the plan but who knows. My kids were so much fun this summer I am going to miss them.

Eyebrows

I decided I would try and get my eyebrows waxed. This was the first time in all my 29 years that I have had this done. My eyes totally watered the whole time and the lady who did it said that I didn't have much hair to remove. It was an OK experience but I don't think I need to do this. I can't really tell the difference so I think I will just let them grow.

Chicken pox

Katelyn woke up from her nap today with a little surprise for me. She has the chicken pox's. Both her and Natalie have been vaccinated but I read on "webmd" that the vaccination is 100% effective for the severe cases but 85-90% effective for the mild cases. Also with a child that has the vaccine normally their cases are mild. (hopefully) Natalie hasn't shown any symptoms yet and I will be calling her doctor tomorrow to see how long I need to watch for them. I am hoping that Kate runs through this fast and Nat doesn't get it. There is a wedding in a week and a half and the girls are suppose to be in it. Paul would be more then willing to stay home with the girls while I go to the wedding because we all know how he loves things like that but I don't think he is out of the woods yet. The picture isn't very good because the pox's are in the early stages and very light.
Update: I talked with the doctor this morning and Kate should be through this in a week and I have to watch Nat for the next week and a half. If she gets no symptoms then she is in the clear and can go to the wedding.

LuLu's bridal shower

My cousin Lindsey is getting married in a couple of weeks and I was in charge of her bridal shower. It turned out great and I have to thank my Aunt Laura for helping me. I am not very creative and when I would get stuck on how to decorate something she always had a solution. Also one of her wedding colors is blue and I have been helping with the wedding so I was tired of the color blue. Lindsey also likes the color green and I wanted the room to be bright and cheery. I think we pulled it off. It was a great turn out and she got a ton of great gifts. I had a blast putting this together and wish her the best.
